July - September.  Flowers  rose or lilac in compact spikes ,  until 10 cm. Leaves lanceolate covered with gray hairiness, sessile.
 
 
Water regularly to keep the soil permanently humid.  They tolerate soaking.
 
 
Humid gardens, forming groups of flowers,by  currents of water or ponds.  They have a great capacity to reproduce through their rumners, being able to transform into invasive plants , reason why  they should be planted  in big containers to control them better.  Also cultivated by their medicinal properties.

By means of seeds or  division at the beginning of spring or in autumn. they should be replanted every year.
