Rations of cereals and starches for adults

For adult people rations of cereals and starches should be:

  • A serving of bread or breakfast cereals is 30-40 grams. In household measures, they are about 3-4 fingers of a loaf of bread or 3-4 tablespoons of cereal.

  • One serving of pasta or rice is 60-80 grams. In household measures, a medium bowl.

  • A serving of potato is 150 to 200 g of raw potatoes. In household measures, two small or one large potato.

How many servings of cereals and starches should we eat every day?

A total of 4 to 5 servings of bread, rice, cereals, grains, plus 1 daily ration of potatoes or other starchy food (cassava, sweet potato, etc)
