BAD REACTIONS TO PINE TREE

- Skin reactions: Scots pine tree may cause allergic reactions on the skin.

Contact dermatitis can appear with the use of the fresh plant, essential oil, sawdust, bark or resin.

To avoid these effects, it is recommended to apply the essential oil or external remedies in small doses to the skin.

The plant may be photosensitizing in sun exposure, causing adverse reactions such as eczema, especially in high places (mountain) where solar radiation is most intense. One should not sunbathe during treatment with pine.

- Allergy: Some people can be allergic to pine.

- Vomiting, abdominal pain and digestive problems: such as gastritis, due to the high tannin content.

- Constipation: Due to its tannin content, it is astringent.

- Increased diuresis: pine has diuretic effect.

Pregnancy and lactation

It is NOT safe to use pine treatments during pregnancy and lactation.

Do not use pine remedies if you are pregnant or lactating. Check with your doctor if you have questions.
