SALTED KASHA - BUCKWHEAT PORRIDGE

What is kasha?

Kasha is the common name given to buckwheat in Eastern Europe. However, in some regions, it also means "porridge". Porridge or a bowl of kasha are over a thousand years old, making it the best-known delicacy in Slavic cuisine.

This dish has many variations, both sweet and savory, and accepts many ingredients as years of tradition in the kitchen leads to many countries. In this web we propose a sweet and salty recipe for 'porridge' or other Kasha, presented below.

Buckwheat

Ingredients:

- 300g buckwheat

In traditional porridge dishes, grain is ground in order to divide grains into large pieces.

- 100g black olives

- 2 onions, finely chopped

- 1 clove garlic

- Olive oil

- 1 pinch of sea salt.

Preparation:

- Cook the buckwheat grain, previously roasted,in water (2 cups water for each cup of buckwheat) for 20 minutes.

- Saute the onions and garlic aside, add salt and pitted olives and cut into pieces.

- Add the cooked and drained beans, mix well and cook for 5-10 minutes.

Properties:

A delicious recipe for the soft texture and flavor of the grain, which blends perfectly with the garlic, onion and black olives. It is also gluten free, suitable for people with celiac disease.
