How to grow monkshood (Aconitum napellus)

Monkshood, aconite  or wolfsbane is in bloom from June to September. It produces blue flowers till 2 cm long, helmet-shaped. Corolla as wide as tall.

Its leaves are  divided till half of the blade into subdivided segments.

It is a perennial plant till 1,2 m.

Water it frequently, daily during bloom.

Used for decorations, stony gradients and as a drug. It was also used as a medicinal plant.

Place it in full sun in cool places or demishade.

Reproduce from seeds in spring or tubers in autumn.

Rich- humus soil, well drained.
