GENITAL HERPES REMEDIES

Characteristics of genital herpes

What is genital herpes?

Genital herpes is caused by both Herpes simplex virus type 1 and by Herpes simplex virus type 2, the latter being the originator of 90% of infections. It is a type of herpes that is transmitted by sexual contact and is gaining a higher degree of infection among young people.

Genital herpes virus does not disappear completely after the first time that a person is infected but remains dormant for a period of time or long time until it returns to reactivate causing what is called an outbreak. For this reason, we say that herpes is a recurrent disease.

The more serious infections, including death, are as shown in infants as a result of genital herpes transmission from mother to child. (Neonatal herpes) This type of infection usually occurs at delivery.

Causes of genital herpes

How do people get genital herpes?

The cause of genital herpes is infection by Herpes simplex viruses. Within these, the one that produces more cases of infection is Herpes simplex type II (HSV-II) which is credited with 70 to 90% of cases. Herpes simplex virus type I (HSV-I) mainly responsible for cold sores, is also responsible for 10 to 30% of the remaining cases.

This is a highly contagious disease that is transmitted from a sick person to another who is not. Genital herpes appears on the genitals (penis and anus or near it in men / vagina, cervix and anus in women) Pimples that become blisters and these, in turn, burst and become crusty. This process begins as an initial stinging, changing to itching pain afterwards.

Herpes can be spread easily through kissing, caressing or skin contact. Sexual relations are a major cause of infection. The contact between genitalia, vaginal or anal penetration or contact of the mouth with sex facilitate the transmission of the virus. The reason lies in the genital areas being wet by nature, so the presence of mucus facilitates infection. For this reason mouth is so sensitive.

The infections caused by this type of herpes do not only occur when pimples, blisters, or open wounds are present but when the individual is infected, often without knowing it. It is believed that up to 75% of people infected by this type of herpes do not know it.

This is the reason why these viruses are being expanded widely every day. Sex allow infection. In addition, through oral sex, it can spread from the oral form to to genital one or vice versa.

Symptoms of genital herpes

Subsequently, genital herpes produces the first visible symptoms: After a period of itching, pain or burning sensation, pimples are formed that become blisters and these, in turn, burst and produce scabs that usually heal without leaving a scar on one or two weeks. (It appears on the genitals and around them: penis, scrotum, thighs and anus in men / vagina, cervix, clitoris, thighs and anus in women).
