Anagallis arvensis L. – (Scarlet pimpernel)

Herb of the Primrose family -Primulaceae- till 30 cm. Ascendent or creeping stems, square. Opposite leaves -not so frequently, whorled– sessile, ovate, pointed. Single flowers on long axilar stalks. Violet, pink or red. Fruits in capsule. In cultivated and waste lands or sandy soils.
