Anthyllis vulneraria L. – (Woundwort)

Prostrate or ascending perennial herb of the Pea family– Leguminosae, up to 50 cm. Stems silky hairy. Leaves green above and silky white on the underside, pinnate, with up to 6 pairs of leaflets, more numerous in the upper lleaves. Terminal leaflets very prominent. Flowers yellow, rarely pink, red or white in heads, protected with a pair of bracts that resemble leaves. Calyx hairy very prominent, swollen with a narrow gorge.

It is found in calcareous soils from Western Europe, North Africa and America and Southeast Asia
