Biennial plant of the figwort family –scrophulariaceae- till 1,5 m. tall. Stems erect, covered with a dense downiness, which makes the plant to look like white velvet, coming off easily when we rub it.Oblong leaves, unstalked or edge unbroken. Flowers from 1,8 to 2,5 cm, yellow, in pyramidal panicles with five stamen, having the stalks covered with white hairs. Dry calcareous grasslands
