Dealing with menopause symptoms
TIPS FOR MENOPAUSE
Among the main advice to make the menopause more bearable we would mention the following:
Increasing knowledge of the symptoms of this period
An understanding of the symptoms of menopause can help control them better. It’s important to consult with your doctor about them, talk to other people who have previously experienced them, or are in the same situation.
There are support groups to make this period easier.
Control the heat attacks
To do so, the most important to consider is to have knowledge of what they consist on, to know, for example, that the flushes are usually short, that they can also diminish by cooling the body.
There are many ways to lose body heat: drinking more fluids, eating more lightly and less caloric meals, adequate clothing (fresh and light), using a small battery operated fan or a fan to cool the face when away from home, placing oneself in front of the refrigerator with the door open, showering with cold water, putting cold compresses on the face or neck, etc
Perform gentle exercises regularly
Exercising or walking helps decrease the symptoms of menopause
Light physical activity can help relieve stress and improve the condition of the bones to prevent osteoporosis.
Particularly interesting are the “belly dance” exercises. This dance, which was invented to facilitate the expulsion of the fetus in pregnant women, does not only imply a great control of the body and mind but, given the type of moves that are enhanced, it can develop the muscles of the pelvis and vagina, thereby achieving a better control of vaginal muscles and urinals.
Practicing this dance can help menopausal women to address urinary incontinence and improve their sex.
It is an alternative method to kegel exercises, which consists of a series of exercises specially designed to control urinary incontinence in women after childbirth prostate surgery in men, or in people who can not control bowel movements.
Maintaining a good sexual relation
It has been found that maintaining a healthy sex life during this period helps to keep estrogen for longer. To achieve a satisfactory sex is essential to have a good relationship with your partner so that there is good communication and mutual understanding.
Because of vaginal dryness and the consequent itching that penetration causes, there may be a rejection of sex. To prevent this from happening, the woman should use a vaginal lubricant that facilitates good penetration, reduces irritation and makes sex more pleasurable.
