Perennial bushy plant of the Mint family -Labiatae- up to 40 cm. tall. Erect, hairy stems, glandular. Leaves oval or oblong, short stalked, dark green and hairy above, toothed or untoothed. Purple-pink flowers; corolla 1, 5 cm, hairy calyx and bracts similar to the leaves. In woods, grasslands and dry places.
