What is lupulin?

Lupulin is a yellow powder concentrate covering the cones of hop flowers.

The lupulin is extracted hitting the cones for the powder to fall. Then, it has to be screened to remove impurities.

The result is in a yellowish substance with a resinous texture, highly flammable by the presence of natural oils.

– Widely used for brewing.

At therapeutic level, it is used because it has the same properties as the hop flowers but much more concentrated, so it has been used for the treatment of delirium tremens in alcohol or substance abuse. Among other applications, we can mention:

  • Nervous system disorders: nervousness, insomnia, palpitations, muscle stiffness, etc..

  • Upset stomach: indigestion, heartburn, gas, etc..

How to use lupulin?

  • Dust: medicinal doses of this preparation are set at a maximum of 0.2 to 0.7 g. per dose, which corresponds to an amount of 6 to 10 grains. It can be taken as such or a ball can be formed to be swallowed like a pill.

  • Tincture of lupulin: It is mainly used to treat stomach disorders. The usual doses are between 3.6 and 12 ml.
