May - June. Tubular blue flowers till 3 cm in hanging racemes,  born before the leaves. Compound leaves, bipinnate, till  50 cm. Fruits in capsule, dark brown. Deciduous tree that can reach 15 m.
 
 
Having  very superficial roots, it is convenient an abundant watering, especially in young samples. (species of tropical and subtropical origin) .As it grows it can tolerate the drought better.
 
 
Square or garden  tree. Very used by the beauty of its blue flowers. The  wood, although it is good, is  little used.
 
 
Sun, it  is quite sensitive to freezing, especially the young samples.
 
   
By means of seeds in spring or cuttings in summer. It should not be pruned, because the new branches,  having a divergent growth, break up with the balance of the plant.
 
 
Preferably rich in organic matter, well drained.
