In general, sundew extracts have few side effects:
– The fresh plant has secretions that can be irritating to the skin.
– In high doses, it can irritate the lining of the digestive tract and can cause stomach pain or gastritis.
– Internal use can discolor urine.
Pregnancy and lactation
It should not be taken as plumbalgin has cytotoxic effects and can harm the fetus or baby.
The sundew has intoxicated various animals that feed on it. It is believed that the poisoning can be caused by irritation of the gastrointestinal mucosa, or because the plant is responsible for transmitting a parasite,
