Crab louse (Pthirus pubis = Pediculus pubis) is a type of louse that lives in pubic hair and other parts of the body, like armpits hair, eyelashes (especially in children), hair of the abdomen, beard, moustaches, (in men) etc.. – Sharing closets: Sitting on an infected closet can also spread this infection, especially when someone sits on public closets

The presence of crabs may be detected directly by the existence of adults or nits in the hair. Sometimes skin sores can be seen straight into the affected area as a result of scratching or crabs bites.
