A keto diet is a diet based on eating foods from fats or proteins instead of giving importance to carbohydrates. Among the best known keto diets we have the Atkins diet.

With this type of feeding we try to increase the amount of ketones in the organisms. It is believed that ketones can help suppress seizures.

Which patients are seeking for keto diet?

It is used primarily in children from one to 12 years. Children or patients who have not responded well to treatment with antiepileptic drugs.

How do the keto diet is performed?

You must eat fatty foods and protein for several days and you must not eat carbohydrates. This diet must not extend more than three months.
