How to make a coffee with a pot

Infusion of coffee ground seeds

We are so used to drinking coffee made with espresso coffee machines that we have lost the awareness that coffee is really an infusion of the ground seeds of the coffee tree or coffee plant.

Formerly, when there were no coffee makers, the coffee was made by introducing the coffee grain, moderately ground, in a container with boiling water and let it rest for a while, just as we prepare an infusion of chamomile or another medicinal plant.
Maybe, just out of curiosity, we should try the traditional and homemade coffee recipes we propose below.

Ingredients for 6 persons:

  • 6 tablespoons of not very finely ground coffee
  • 6 cups of water.
  • Sugar
  • Milk (optional)

Preparation

  • Grind coffee with a grinder in order to obtain a thick powder. The coffee grinder can be purchased but it must be special for coffee pot preparation Espresso coffee is usually too thin to prepare homemade coffee.
  • Pour into a pot 6 tablespoons of coffee (one tablespoon per person)
  • Pour into a pan 6 cups of cold water. (One cup per person)
  • Turn on the fire and put the pan on it. Wait until it reaches the boiling point. Once boiling, remove it from fire.
  • Pour the boiling water into the coffee pot.
  • Allow the coffee settle for about 7 minutes. Cover the pot to preserve fragrance and keep hot.
  • Stir with a spoon so the top sediments can deposit at the bottom.
  • Serve directly on the cup, putting a strainer on the cup to gather the coffee grounds

Uses

Drink it sweetened with sugar. You can also use it to add to ice cream, cakes, etc. It can be drunk alone (black coffee), with milk (White coffee) with dash of milk.

How to make filtered coffee at home

Ingredients for 6 persons:

  • 6 tablespoons of ground coffee for filter
  •  6 cups of water.
  •  Sugar
  • Milk (optional)

Preparation of filtered coffee

  • Grind coffee with a coffee mill so that it becomes pretty fine. The coffee grinder can be purchased but it must be a special one for filtered coffee.
  • Place the filter paper on a container. Pour coffee over it (a tablespoon per person)
  • Place some water in a pot (One cup per person). Put the pot on the fire.
  • Turn on the fire and wait until it reaches the boiling point..
  • Pour a little water on the coffee filter, only a small amount to moisten the coffee inside the filter.
  • Pour all the rest of water on the filter and wait for it to pass through the coffee filter into the lower container.

Uses of filtered coffee
