Perennial tree or shrub of the Hazel family – betulaceae- up to 20 m,.. Erect stems, white, with bark pulling to strips. Young shoots glabrous, hanging, full of warts.. Oval leaves, triangular and hairless. Male flowers in hanging catkins. Winged fruit, with very wide wings. Mountain humid woods.
