Administered in adequate doses, it usually presents no contraindication. In high doses it produces decreased heart rate, arrhythmia, respiratory depression and hypotension.
It can produce unpleasant effects on people with allergies to the Rosaceae.
Do not give to pregnant or lactating women.
The use of this plant, combined with medication for blood pressure or heart, can intensify their effects too, so that the doctor should assess the appropriateness of this application and the proper dosage.
