Who can’t eat eggs?
Do eggs have contraindications?
Eggs are very nutritious because they provide protein, B vitamins (including B12), are the richest food in choline, and also contain vitamins A, E, and D. As an edible food, eggs do not present major toxicity problems.

However, eggs are not exempt from contraindications and there is a risk of poisoning if this food, or recipes prepared with it, are not handled properly.
What are the contraindications of eggs?
The main contraindication for this food is that it cannot be consumed by people with egg allergies. This type of allergy usually appears during early childhood, when eggs are introduced into the diet. The allergenic protein is typically egg ovalbumin (Gal d 2), responsible for 54% of allergies, and ovomucoid allergy is also very common (11%).
Is an egg allergy forever, or temporary?
In 70% of cases of children with egg allergies, the allergy resolves around the age of 5. In any case, it is never recommended to try at home to administer eggs to see if the child already tolerates it. These types of tests should be done in a hospital setting, following the advice and supervision of an allergist.
Is it good or advisable to remove the yolk?
For a long time it has been mistakenly recommended to remove the egg yolk, because supposedly it, being rich in cholesterol, was harmful.
We now know that it’s better not to d0 it and to consume the whole egg, because removing it reduces the nutritional value of this food. For example, although most of the egg’s protein is found in the white, the yolk contains 40% of the total protein in the egg, and removing it significantly decreases the protein value or quality of this food. Furthermore, the yolk contains a large number of nutrients, such as essential fatty acids, choline, vitamin E, iron, and more.
Can people with high cholesterol eat eggs?

One of the most widespread myths about eating eggs is that they supposedly raise cholesterol levels because they are very high in cholesterol. But numerous studies have confirmed that this hypothesis is false.
Scientific evidence confirms that egg consumption does not increase cholesterol or cardiovascular risk, and may even be beneficial for the heart due to its high nutritional value.
Toxicity of eggs
Unlike what happens with many plants, eggs do not present toxicity problems because they do not have any components that could harm the body.
Is it dangerous to eat raw eggs?
Raw eggs contain an antinutrient called avidin, which inactivates vitamin B1 (thiamine). For this reason, it is always recommended to consume cooked eggs.
It is a food very rich in protein and its proteins have a high biological value, so much so that it is used as a standard compared to other types of protein, whether of plant or animal origin.
In addition, eggs are notable for being the richest source of choline. They also contain other vitamins, including B vitamins (including B12) and vitamins A, E, and D.
