Foods that contain a lot of lysine
What are the main foods rich in lysine?
Foods that contain a lot of lysine are the following:
* Meat products rich in lysine

- Milk and dairy products, especially cheese and protein supplements made from milk powder (whey protein)
- Eggs, meat (chicken, pork, beef, etc)
- Fish (salmon, halibut, sardines, mackerel, etc.)
* Plant foods rich in lysine
In general, plant foods do not contain so much lysine as foods rich in animal protein. Among the richest plant sources of lysine, we can include:
- Legumes: (soy and soy products: tofu, tempeh, soymilk,…, carob beans, lentils, lupins, chickpeas, peas, beans, peanuts, etc
- Vegetables: watercress, quinoa, spinach, Chinese cabbage, chayote, parsley, asparagus)
- Wheat germ
- Grains and nuts contain lysine, but not in sufficient quantity to provide an adequate supply of this amino acid. Lysine deficiency of these food groups forces them to be combined with other groups of protein-rich foods: Combine your cereal dishes, sandwiches or nuts with legumes (The above foods)
