FOODS TO INCREASE FERTILITY

FOOD AND INFERTILITY

A proper diet can help promote higher fertility of the members of a couple. Among the components that would increase the fertility we can mention the following:

  • Ascorbic acid: (Vitamin C) increases the quality of sperm to prevent oxidation and to prevent the formation of lumps. The best in their content of vitamin C are: citrus fruits (lemons, oranges and grapefruits), vegetables such as borage, garlic, onions, soft fruits such as strawberries, pineapples, cashews or papayas and nuts such as hazelnuts or almonds.

  • Arginine: It contributes in the creation of sperm. Foods rich in this component are: onions, garlic, asparagus, oats, cabbage, peppers, oranges, carrots, lettuce, apples, almonds, potatoes, beans, spinach, etc.

  • Carnitine:It increases testosterone, the male reproductive hormone. Carnitine-rich foods include garlic, onions, peppers, papaya, oats, coconut, citrus fruits (lemons, oranges and grapefruits), cucumbers, cabbage, pumpkins, pears.

  • Tryptophan: It is an aminoacid that is the best natural relaxant. It is the precursor of serotonin, a neurotransmitter. Some foods that contain this component are: garlic, onion, cashews, oats, cabbage, squash, chestnuts, citrus in general, tomatoes, figs, beans, mango, etc.

  • Zinc : It increases testosterone, the male reproductive hormone. Foods rich in zinc are: celery, asparagus, borage, figs, potatoes, eggplant, etc.
